Geerte Frenken talks to Patrice Lenowitz

When Protective Mother and Domestic Violence Survivor Patrice Lenowitz tried to leave her abusive ex with their two young sons she learned that Family Court is systemically biased against women and used by abusers as a means to further harm their victims. She spent nearly 7 years and $250,000 fighting for her and her children’s rights to an abuse-free life. Through her struggle she became a fierce and well-known activist fighting for Family Court and CPS Reform!

Patrice states: “The unjust patriarchal and corrupt court system, orchestrated by the Bar Association is a club of unscrupulous professionals that exploit victims and families-in-crisis for profit and it nearly destroyed me and my children, but I am one of the lucky ones.  Although I suffered from PTSD, became penniless without so much as money for milk, and as a victim of domestic violence was denied ADA accommodations in court, and was forced by my judge to represent myself pro-se at my trial against my abuser plus his abusive counsel, I miraculously retained custody! Many mothers across America are not as fortunate, and I know it.

My sons are now 19 and 16.  My oldest is headed to college, my youngest is an honor roll student, and my ex moved out of my state. I believe that both my children are doing considerably well under the circumstances because I did the healing work on myself to deal with the trauma, surrounded my children with safe, loving, supportive family and friends, and worked from within to raise myself into wholeness as a woman and a mother.  I found the courage to connect with others in crisis, and the strength to build a supportive grassroots activism community that fights earnestly for each other’s rights, safety, health and wellbeing.”

Patrice Lenowitz is the Executive Director of The Nurtured Parent Support Group for Survivors of Domestic Abuse. She is also the co-founder of the Children’s Justice Campaign with actress Kelly Rutherford.

Additionally, Patrice Lenowitz is the Community Educator for the Center for Hope and Safety and she is a Grassroots Activist in the Family Court/CPS Reform Project WE THE CHILDREN.

Patrice is a Co-Playwright of the theatrical production FORBIDDEN TO PROTECT with Author and Domestic Violence expert Lundy Bancroft (expected to open to audiences in the spring of 2017).

Patrice Lenowitz is also the Producer of Lundy Bancroft’s webinar “Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men” which will be released in the fall of 2016!

So what is a Protective Mother? A Protective Mother tries to protect her child or children from their abusive father by many means necessary, which is an uphill battle in today’s corrupt global Family Court system that thrives on paternal entitlement. Maternal Deprivation at the hands of abusive fathers has reached pandemic proportions! However, Protective Mothers worldwide are uniting to fight for the right to keep their children in what could be called a new Civil Rights movement.

Professional Fine Artist and College Professor Geerte Frenken is a Protective Mother fighting for her court-abducted daughter Jasmijn. She is the host of the CCN Live TV show HELL IS FOR CHILDREN about the global plight of Protective Mothers and their children that airs every Saturday at 3PM Eastern Time (21:00 Central European Time). Recordings of the shows are made available via youtube within a few days after each Live broadcast and are archived HERE as well.
