Helping kids to have happy, healthy outlooks on sex, sexuality and gender is so important. Our panelists will discuss their views on how to achieve this goal.
From the very beginning, 20 years ago, I was raised to honor how important feelings are, and I consider that in everything I do. I’m a competitive figure skater, spending most of my time at an ice rink. Blending what I value with what I love isn’t always easy, especially in such a competitive environment, but the challenge is what makes it so rewarding. I love meeting new people and consider myself social and outgoing, which defies the stereotype that unschoolers are shy and sheltered. I love showing that unschooling does not equal antisocial. I’m very active in my local community and LGBT+ movement, along with other issues surrounding equality and acceptance.
Hi All, I’m Bev, unschooling Mom to 3 kiddos and 1 grown adult son, wife to Mike and caretaker of a whole slew of crazy critters in beautiful New Brunswick, Canada. We’ve been on this journey for just about 11 years now and hope to extend our farm and life to create an amazing intentional community, which will not only expand our children’s world but provide a way for Mike to be at home and be part of all the fun and joy that is our unschooling life! We all enjoyed LWI so much last year and can’t wait to attend again this year! I currently teach Qigong (chee-gong/kung), which is very similar to Tai Chi but much easier to learn and it provides all the same great benefits of yoga.
